Medicaid and Medicare are both government health insurance programs, but there are important differences. While Medicare primarily provides health insurance for people age 65 or older, it does not pay for extended care nursing home (skilled nursing facility) or long-term care. Medicaid covers costs such as nursing home care and long-term care, if an individual qualifies.
At the Monthie Law Firm, we also consult with a Board Certified Family Physician in more complex situations, medically nuanced situations.
If an individual qualifies, Medicaid will cover:
- Physician’s services
- Hospital care
- Long-term care either in your home or a skilled nursing facility
- Medications
- Supplies
- Other reasonable and necessary services
